The Coneflower. This piece feels like a dear, sweet child of mine. The first piece I made in this collection, it actually came to me in 2021 in the midst of stress and chaos. I worked out a prototype in my sketchbook but then improved from there.
The stark simplicity amidst the chaos of the pandemic is what I really craved. The peace that came with allowing myself to be entirely absorbed by this gorgeous flower I'll never forget.
Drawn by hand with micron pen and india ink, this piece took me 15 hours to complete.

These original pieces of art are made with human hands, and some flaws are inevitable. As much as I aim for perfection, sometimes they end up with scuffs, minor folds, or a tiny splotch of ink here and there. They still look beautiful. I hope that you will see these flaws as the marks of a real, breathing artist.
