The beauty of the dahlias is that spiral pattern in their petals. So many petals. And how effortlessly they grow.
I want to grow like that. Without the struggle and strain, without wondering if there was something else I could have chosen.
All those choices - real and imagined - are so overwhelming, and so much a part of our human experience.
And this is why I draw flowers. The effortless beauty, the simple but miraculous existence. And the reminder of how much more beauty and miracles there are for us, in all of our complicated, messy splendor.
Originally made with micron pen and India ink, this piece took me 20 hours to complete.

After doing a ton of research online about art and how people are selling it, I felt overwhelmed. There were very cheap options that felt impersonal or created more work for the buyer. And there were, of course, outrageously expensive options. Options, options, and more options.
I decided to offer my small collections in the form of framed prints in order to diminish that feeling of overwhelm. To only offer what you need, at a price point you can swallow.
I spent hours editing the scans of my artwork and had many test prints made in order to ensure the highest quality possible. My hope is that these framed prints will allow you to easily invite more beauty into your home.
